Amazon: It should come as no surprise that Amazon is already jumping in with its Presidents' Day sale, offering discounts across a ton of categories including electronics, clothing, small appliances, pet supplies, and more. For example, we've already seen up to 45% off Hisense TVs, up to 46% off HP computers, and up to 31% off select Greenworks tools.
BBQ Guys: This is a rare opportunity to save up to 60% on a selection of grills to prepare for the upcoming season. Plus, select purchases come with free gifts to sweeten the deals and have you looking forward to summer even more. These are the kinds of offers we usually see in September and October as retailers try to clear out their stock, so take advantage of these savings while you can!
Macy's: Why wait for Presidents' Day when you can shop up to 80% off on shoes, apparel, jewelry, home goods, toys, and so much more now? Star Rewards members also qualify for free shipping, and if you're not a member yet, it's easy (and free!) to sign up.
Mattress Firm: Upgrade your bed in a big way with this massive sale, which offers up to $700 off king-size mattresses along with the chance to snag a free adjustable base on select purchases.
Sam's Club: While not labeled as a Presidents' Day sale, that's basically what this month's savings event at Sam's Club is. Members can save up to $9,700 across a number of categories, including groceries, small appliances, electronics, and plenty more.
JCPenney: Looking for new home goods? JCPenney's Presidents' Day Home Sale is up and running! Shoppers can save up to 50% off in this event, although the Big Buys section offers even deeper discounts. Even better, you can save an extra 30% off select items via the code "SMOOCHES".
Purple: Shop the mattress brand's Presidents' Day sale to save up to $800 on mattress and base sets, as well as 20% off accessories such as pillows, sheets, and more. Note that the savings will break down to up to $500 off select mattresses and up to $300 off select bases for a total of $800 off certain sets.
Frontgate: The furniture and home goods store is taking up to 30% off a variety of categories right now to celebrate Presidents' Day 2024. Revamp your home with discounts on decor, rugs, lighting, bedding, and furniture of all kinds — including patio pieces — plus much more.
Ashley Furniture: The furniture retailer is having a huge sale and offering deals from as little as $59.99. Shop savings for the living room from $139.99, dining room from $89.99, coffee and end tables from $69.99, and mattresses from $150. Plus, mattresses also qualify for free shipping.

How Long Do Presidents' Day Sales Last?
While Presidents' Day sales will begin early, they tend to last through the holiday itself. We may see some extensions through the next day or even to the following weekend, but those will be the exception rather than the rule.
The first Presidents' Day sale we saw last year showed up on February 7 and came from Monoprice. It cut up to 72% off products such as cables, power strips, monitors, headphones, speakers, and TV mounts.
Online Shopping vs In-Store
While many might lean into online shopping for its general ease, the truth is that there are times when shopping in-person is a good idea. For Presidents' Day sales, it may be especially useful to shop in-store for some of the bigger items — such as furniture, mattresses, and even TVs — as you might want to see how they look and perform in real life before adding to your online cart.
If you already know that you like a particular item and that it'll fit in your space, though, you absolutely can shop online. Since free shipping may not be as readily available as it once was, it could be worth it to haul something home yourself if you have the means rather than potentially having to pay for oversized shipping. However, if you can get free shipping online and have no issues with scheduling a delivery for things like furniture and major appliances, it could save you time and trouble to do so.
What Did Presidents' Day 2023 Deals Look Like?
Plenty of shoppers were happy to spend their hard-earned cash during Presidents' Day 2023 sales. Here are the top offers we saw, which could make a repeat appearance this year.
Amazon Presidents' Day Deals: The online retailer offered up savings for the holiday that encompassed a ton of categories both practical and fun across the board, including things like an under-sink organizer for $22 or a 42-film Blu-ray collection for $100.
eBay Presidents' Day Sale: It's probably not a surprise that another mega online retailer also ranked pretty high on our best offers. The store took an extra 20% off via a coupon code on products like apparel, shoes, small appliances, TVs, and much more.
Lenovo Presidents' Day Laptop Deals: It might not seem like February is the time to shop for a new laptop, but Lenovo knocked up to 81% off on almost 350 items. Even better, select deals qualified for an extra 5% off via a code.
Macy's Presidents' Day Furniture Sale: While Macy's had a full-blown sale that encompassed other categories, this one geared towards furniture specifically was one of the most popular offers. Shoppers could save up to 60% off a variety of different kinds of furniture, but even better was the fact that some items were eligible for an extra 10% off via a coupon code.
Home Depot Presidents' Day Home Savings: This offer was good enough to bag our Staff Pick badge for being one of the "best-of-the-best" deals during the holiday. Shoppers could save up to 30% off plus an extra 10% off via a coupon code that could be stacked with select sale items.
What Are the Presidents' Day 2024 Predictions?
Electronics That Are Up to 81% Off
Presidents' Day isn't the absolute best time to buy electronics, but it still features sales that are worth checking out, especially if you're looking for pricier tech items. Do you need a new computer, for example? There should be quite a few retailers offering up discounts for Presidents' Day. Look for companies like HP to take up to 70% off, while Lenovo could take as much as 81% off with its Presidents' Day doorbusters.
Another retailer to watch will be Best Buy, as it tends to have several Presidents' Day offers that can help you save on a variety of big-ticket items. Last year, they discounted video games and toys by up to 50%, but also offered savings on select laptops, including up to $200 off MacBooks. Watch for computer sales from Dell, as well. Last year, shoppers could save up to 48% on laptops, monitors, docking stations, desktops, and other items, while another Dell deal we listed offered up to $300 off select laptops.
Expect other electronics to be on sale for Presidents' Day weekend too. In 2023, B&H Photo Video offered savings on cameras, TVs, storage, and other items from big brands like GoPro and Sony. Best Buy took up to $800 off select TVs, Lenovo cut up to 54% off select phones and tablets, and Samsung celebrated with discounts of up to $1,500 off select TV and home theater products.
Clothing Ranging From 20% to 60% Off
Clothing is another pretty big category for Presidents' Day sales. In fact, about 23% of the deals we saw for the holiday last year were for apparel of some kind. Some discounts tend to be modest — around 20% to 30% off. That's not to say they're bad, but don't count on the rock-bottom discounts like we see around Black Friday, for example.
Expect other retailers to offer more savings, though. Consider what the following stores did last year for Presidents' Day:
- Crocs cut up to 50% off and provided free shipping on $50.
- Eddie Bauer took 40% off and offered free shipping on $50.
- Gap Factory took 40% to 60% off, plus an extra 10% to 15% off and free shipping.
- Under Armour knocked up to 50% off plus an extra 30% off.
Mattresses Discounted by Up to $1,000
Mattresses may be what most people think of when they think of discounted items for Presidents' Day, and with good reason! We typically see a fair amount of Presidents' Day mattress sales. Searching for the best Presidents' Day deals? Watch for brands like Avocado to take up to $880 off for Presidents' Day, while Purple could once again cut up to $900 off select mattress sets. Serta will almost certainly take part and could knock up to $1,000 off like it did last year. And Stearns & Foster mattresses could see savings of up to $600.
Of course, these aren't the only brands that'll be having Presidents' Day sales featuring mattresses. Stores like Mattress Firm will likely provide up to 50% off again. But it's worth looking at more unconventional mattress retailers too. For instance, Home Depot sells some mattresses and last year Wayfair took up to 60% off.
Furniture and Home Goods That Are Up to Half Off or More
Hoping to snag deals during Presidents' Day furniture sales? Since Presidents' Day sales often include home items in general, furniture and home goods usually make it into at least some of the events. For example, Macy's had a Presidents' Day sale centered around furniture in 2023, and offered up to 60% off plus an extra 10% off via a promo code.
Ashley Furniture also took up to 50% off spotlight deals last year, while Houzz cut up to 80% off in its Presidents' Day sale. Wayfair offered up to 50% off select kitchen and dining furniture, but also knocked as much as 70% off via its Presidents' Day clearance.
Discounts on Large Appliances From Major Brands
A few times of year are ideal for shopping for large appliances, and Presidents' Day is one of them! Home Depot and Lowe's will likely include large appliances in their sales, boasting savings of around 53% off or up to $750 off, respectively.
Count on Best Buy also having major appliances as part of their sales. Last year, they offered an extra 10% off with the purchase of three select appliances, plus up to 30% off select LG washers and dryers, as well as up to $880 off select Samsung Bespoke refrigerators and up to $2,000 off qualifying GE Profile kitchen packages. And that's just a taste of what you can expect again this year.
Specialty stores like AJ Madison and AppliancesConnection will probably offer discounts, as well. Historically, the former has taken up to 30% off during its Presidents' Day sale, while the latter has had deals that beat their Black Friday discounts from a few months before.

The Best Sales Will Fall Over the Long Weekend
Deals may show up early, but the very best discounts will show up over the holiday weekend itself. Over those four days is when we tend to see retailers roll out all the stops by combining their largest discounts (for this holiday anyway) with the biggest selection of items on sale at the time. It's worth looking around before the holiday weekend to have an idea of what the early sales look like, but be prepared to shop over the busy holiday itself for the very best offers.
Shop Around for the Best Deals
Since many major retailers will be offering up Presidents' Day deals, they'll be competing with each other, whether it's intentional or not. That means if you see that Walmart has an excellent price on something, for example, it's worth seeing if Target has the same or similar pricing — especially if you have a RedCard that can save you even more.
Don't Assume Everything is the Best Deal
These sales may be branded as "best deals of the season" or "clearance" level savings, but the truth is not everything is going to be noteworthy. Before you add something to your cart, do a little research to make sure the savings are as good as they seem.
